Opening - 17th of December, 6 p.m.
On the occasion of its 60th anniversary the sculptor Krasimir Iakov will show
a selection of his works. The exhibition contains over 20 bronze sculptures made during the last 10 years, as well as drawings and watercolors created from his graduation of the Academy until today.
In the lobby on the 4th floor gallery of the UBA will be exposed photos of monumental works realized by him from various sculptural symposiums in Bulgaria and abroad.
Opening - 15th of December
For several years, the Union of Bulgarian Artists gives an annual opportunity to the initiator - the artist Roza Engibarova to organize exhibitions with charitable nature. All funds from the sale of artworks will be donated to the needy and for each exhibition it is previously announced the recipient of the collected funds.
This year at 16th of December from 6 am in the gallery of the Union of Bulgarian Artists at Shipka 6 Str. at third floor will be opened "Charity Exhibition" to help the Home for medical and social care for children from 3 to 7 years "St. Ivan Rilski" - Sofia and the Center for youth without parental care "Knyaz Boris I" - Sofia.
The exhibition will include paintings of Roza Engibarova and all artists wishing to participate in this campaign. The exhibition will continue until 23th of December 2015.
Opening - 12th of December, 6 p.m.
The exhibition is an initiative of the section "Stage design" at the Union of Bulgarian Artists and presents 26 contemporary Bulgarian author and the art of the scenography for puppet theater in all its forms and varieties. The original puppets and scenes are accompanied by screen shots, puppet shows and movies. The panorama of the contemporary achievements of the past 10 years is combined with a story of a little known today, Brambazatsite contribution, laid to the foundations of this art.
The exhibition is accompanied by a bilingual album.
The curators of the exhibition are Peter Mitev, Hannah Schwarz and Marietta Golomehova and author of the section on “Brambazatsite” - Galina Dekova.
The project is implemented with the financial support of Sofia Municipality - SP "Culture" for 2015 and the National Fund "Culture".
Opening - 10th of December, 5.30 p.m.
The exhibition "OUTPUT TO THE FUTURE" is the result of the professional experience in ceramics and porcelain factory "Ideal Standard" in city of Sevlievo during the last three years. The internship is the first of its kind organized for students in ceramics from the High school in the factory site. All 120 items will be presented in one of the most prestigious galleries in Bulgaria - Gallery "Industrialna". The main glaze technique performed at decorating is Prima vista and not subject to adjustment, making it difficult to implement, but is one of the most important in technological meaning.

This event is a project of “Ceramics” department at UBA and it’s a peculiar celebration of the artistic ceramic guild. Maintaining the tradition and seeking for new visual and technological concepts the contemporary artists present their works of chamber character in the hall of the gallery - bookstore "Sofia Press" for the fifth time in the days before Christmas. Diverse in style and imagery ceramic works would be an original gift for any home for lovers of contemporary art.
Opening - 4th of December, 6 p.m.
The national exhibition "Sculpture" takes place periodically. Its aim is to show contemporary artists from different generations, illustrating the divergent trends in the contemporary Bulgarian sculpture. The exhibition includes small sculptures and large-format works by famous and young Bulgarian artists. Different artists from across the country sent their works, including senior artists like Tseno Tsenov and also many of our young sculptors.
Traditionally in the exhibition will be presented "Medal sculpture" - a curatorial project of the studio of the National Academy of Arts, including works of current and former students. The selection was made by Assoc. Prof. Emil Bachiyski and Bogomil Nikolov.
Opening - 3rd of December, 6 p.m.
The first exhibition entirely dedicated to the history and current trends in Bulgarian stained glass, is returning to Sofia at the end of the year.
Organized during the month of September 2014 by the "Bulgarian art glass" Foundation and according to the idea of the artist Yuri Vasilev, the exhibition is presented until now in five Bulgarian cities - Sofia, Varna, Veliko Tarnovo, Stara Zagora and Sliven.
Traveled many miles throughout 2015, the exhibition "Bulgarian stained glass" is back in the capital enriched with new works by artists already presented, but also with new names in the author list.
Gallery "Red Point"
Opening - 26th of November, 6.30 p.m.
The annual exhibition of "Wood Carving" Department at UBA this time came into the boutique Gallery "The Red Point”. In her the section includes 14 sculptures and statuary executed in wood. The works that will be presented are created specifically for the exhibition and are designed in practical easel size. The theme of the exhibition is in line with the upcoming holidays and fairy called "Stories of the Unicorn". Its format has been expanded to include in the list of authors and artists with similar plastic searches.
Opening - 26th of November, 6 p.m.
CONTACT is a project created on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the International Triennial of Stage Poster - Sofia.
The collection "Contact" is formed of posters created at the invitation of the Triennial - the work of artists from different countries and different generations.
The exhibition brings together posters of anonymous competition for young Bulgarian authors and debutants those specially invited well-known names from the world of posters, including Bulgarian artists, prize winners of the Triennial.
Opening - 18th of November, 6 p.m.
"Sedimentary time" is an exhibition of a series of large-scale paintings created in 2015. The author rediscovers a productive stage of development, problematizing the status of paintings, with the exit of visual field and proving it as a distinct plastic object in an expanded view of the painting.
The experiments in this unstable, border territory between painting and object, between the object and the installation manifest a psychological and spiritual asset of the plastic form, structural and morphological potential of the plastic idiom.
