The national exhibition "Sculpture" is taking place every year. Its aim is to cover contemporary artists from different generations, illustrating the divergent trends in the contemporary Bulgarian sculpture.
We present the concept of the third edition of the founded by us, AMATERAS Foundation, Sofia Paper Art Fest with bright accents in the period from 24th of April to 2nd fo June. This third edition of the Fest will show to the Sofia audience wanted and eagerly awaited events. The project was announced by the cultural observers for the previous two years as one of the most interesting art events, with the clear goal to become a tradition event in Sofia's bid for European Capital of Culture.
The National Cartoon Exhibition is a traditional event – an annual review of the most valuable achievements of the Bulgarian contemporary artists in the field of the caricature. The exhibition is organized by the “Cartoon” department at UBA.
The exhibition aims to stimulate the development of the Bulgarian caricature and to contribute to the promotion of the works of the Bulgarian caricaturists in the country and abroad.
On 4 of October at 18:00 in the halls of the Gallery of the Union of Bulgarian Artists – Sofia, "Shipka" № 6 opens the final exhibition " National Awards for Painting, Sculpture and Graphics of Allianz Bulgaria, 2011-2012”, organized with the partnership of the Union of Bulgarian Artists.
From the Sofia regional exhibition the jury members Svetlin Roussev, Chavdar Popov, Valentin Starchev, Stoyan Tsanev and Ruza Marinska had nominated Marina Marinova and her work “Construction” for the painting award, Emil Popov - “Little animal” for the sculpture award and Desislava Deneva – “The time according to me III” for the print art award.
The jury: prof. Ivana Eneva, prof. Bojidar Bontchev, Rositza Trendafilova, Yoanna Kemileva and the art critic Diana Draganova – Shtir awarded the young artist Marta Dimitrova and her work “The menu of life” with first price.
Today, when for third week the creations of the Second Bulgarian Design Biennial are making the halls of the gallery of UBA full of people and attracting hundreds of enthusiastic admirers of the design art, we are ready to make the myth of “the Bulgarian design” as as. Prof. Vasil Stoyanov said a reality and tradition in the cultural life in the capital and the country.
The Ruf concurs has started euphorically five years ago and now, after its fifth edition and the deserved order for services to the Bulgarian culture we have the right to mark its political potential. I use “political” in the widest sense of the word where we can see side by side the quality control, package and taste.
Our public met the latest works of 30 artists, born and related their lives with the city. There were presented paintings, sculptures, drawings and installations of artists from different generations, as Elitza Todorova, Hristo Haralampiev, Ivailo Mirchev, Valentin Gospodinov, Nikolay Yanakiev, Ivailo Popov, Asen Evtimov and many others.
