Sculpture exhibition of Ventsislav Zankov

11.04.14 - 01.05.14 | Gallery "Raiko Alexiev"

Official Opening - April 2, 7 p.m.

Closing – 1st of May with the annual award of „Iron Cross of Contemporary Art”

After dark apocalypticallity of „The Last boudoir” (2011), Ventsislav Zankov presents a new cycle of sculpture and large-scale paintings under the title „Oh, happy days.” Like the eponymous play by Samuel Beckett from 1961the exhibition deals with the absurd and practical aspects of existence beyond - if the „last boudoir” is the final battle drum, the „Oh Happy Days” listens in the silence.

The period in which the works were created is the autumn of 2013 and winter of 2014 and it’s also personal for Ventsislav Zankov who is trying to find a new meaning in the context of public timelessness.

The end of „Oh Happy Days”, the 1st of May 2014, coinciding with the fifth consecutive award of „Iron Cross of Contemporary Art” in the name of Ventsislav Zankov. Happy ending, with a special greeting with „Get Lucky” by Daft Punk.
